Hillside High School Class of 1970 Year Book DVD

This had to be one of the most interesting projects that I’ve had in the past few months.  Yes, I’ve photographed some exciting events but this project was cut from a different mold.   The HHS Class of 1970 committee approached me with a unique idea.  They wanted to know if I could convert their hard copy year book into a DVD that other class members could purchase and watch.   The main thing I needed to hear was that we had permission from the original company from a copy right point of view.  Each page was too large to be scanned and so I had to photograph each one.

After several meetings & proposals we settled on what the final product would be.   One request was related to the look and feel of the DVD Label.  They said it should be “retro”.   With that being understood I came up with the afro/bell bottom design below and they approved it.

Business Card Design – Higher Heights

Not too long ago I was contacted by Wendy Reynolds who is  an editor with  “Beauty Come Forth” magazine.  She explained that she was in need of a new business card for her “Higher Heights” brand.

As we spoke on the phone we brainstormed on several concepts and after a little while I was able to catch the vision of what she does.   Her requirements were that the card should give a person the feeling of being inspired, give the sense of the ability to achieve, contain the primary colors pink and white and last but not least be completely different from any other card that another person might have in their wallet.

As I awoke from a nap I saw the design as clear as day in my head.  The vision that was revealed to me is now realized in the two sided card below.  I thank God for the ability He has given me to start tapping into a more creative side of life.

Nicole & Tolly – Their Wedding Day

On September 4th I had the honor of capturing the wedding day of Nicole and Tolly.  Their wedding was held at the home of Nicole’s parents. This provided for a comfortable, relaxed and sentimental wedding experience.  In attendance were many family and friends to help witness the new life that they are beginning together.

May God bless, sustain, empower, strengthen and keep the two of you as you make this journey forward as husband and wife.  May everything that your hands touch be successful with the Lords help.

Below are just a few highlights from your day.  Feel free to view the slide show and visit the full picture gallery.

Thanks for giving me the privilege of capturing this special day for you.

McDonald’s Corporation & Moroch Advertising Agency

McDonald’s is running a campaign to help inform the public that it’s business owners do more than just sell food.  Moroch Advertising Agency handles all of the advertising for McDonald’s Corporation.   I was asked to photograph several black business owners of the McDonald’s Franchise in Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte (North Carolina).  Below is one of the ads followed by some of the images captured.

Business Portraits With Helen

Helen is a make up artist about to launch her own line of products.  She was in need of some business images that could be easily cut out and used for posters, products, website etc.  This is why we went with a pure white background.  The shoot went well and I’m looking forward to seeing the launch of her makeup line.

American Institute of Architects – U. Sean Vance, AIA

Last week I spent some time at the “BBH Design” architecture firm.  The purpose of the trip was to capture the interview of a talented architect who goes by the name of Sean.  Sean is a member of the American Institute of Architects .  As I recorded his responses to the series of questions I couldn’t help but be in awe of his depth of thinking.     Over time there will be several architects featured in these videos.   Special thanks to Ashley Hernandez, AIA  of “HART Design Group, PPLC” and  Khalid Almo ,AIA for preparing and asking the questions during the interview.

Maria & Tyrek – Their Wedding Day – July 31, 2010

Last Saturday I spent some time with Maria & Tyrek capturing their wedding day.  The ceremony was held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Scotland Neck, NC.  The reception was held at the Shriners Club in Rocky Mount, NC about 25 minutes away.  There were interesting twists and turns throughout the day and many precious memories were captured for the family.   Maria & Tyrek may God bless your union as you move forward as husband and wife.
