This past weekend I had the privilege to capture Little Ms. Hollis. We went for two different types of looks. A fun contemporary look and an older more classical look. She loved the camera and really got lively and playful as we started to shoot. She was an easy child to work with.

Youth Revival 2009 – North East Baptist Church
On September 16 – 18 Youth Revival 2009 was held at North East Baptist Church where the pastor is Rev. Dr. Wesley Elam, Sr. .   Special thanks goes out to Rev. Yvette Crawford for pulling together the people that made everything happen. Two of the choirs that visited with us were the Knightdale High School Gospel Choir, the UNC Gospel Choir & the J.W. Freeman Youth Choir of Mt. Olive MBC.
In addition to powerful choirs we had some of the finest youth preachers that one could ever sit under.
Rev. Michael Evans, Jr.
Minister Ryan Brooks
Rev. Joshua Brown.
Each one of them caught and held the attention of the youth that were in attendance. The children soon found out that they old traditional style is not the only way to worship God.  The atmosphere was one that was encourage free praise with a youthful spirit.  All three nights left one looking forward to the next day.  If you view some of the pictures below you will feel the impact that the revival had on the children. The children were able to see that it’s cool to be in love with Jesus Christ and that you can love God, worship and praise Him different ways.  Even some of the older adults enjoyed the energetic and youthful approach to praising God.  This is what our kids need if we want to keep them involved and looking forward to attending church.

The Songs of Myscha – CD Album Cover Shoot
I have had a busy week to the extent that most of the things I thought I’d get done this weekend did not get done. However, on Saturday my sons and I made a day trip to Virginia to capture several different photographs for gospel artist Myscha.  The purpose of the shoot was to provide her with several potential choices for her CD album cover. You can learn more about her and her music by visiting www.wix.com/all4praise/myscha
Just in case you’re wondering. YES, I had to get in the water to capture the shot below.
Below are some behind the scenes shots of my two sons helping me on this shoot.

Skater Girl
Last week I met Virginia and we discussed the possibility of working together. As we sipped on an iced mocha at Starbucks we came up with the concept that Skater Girls have class to.  She told me how she loves to ride her skate board and so you know that I had to pop the question.  “Can you stand on your skate board in high heeled shoes?”. She said “Yes, I can.”  I asked if she could do that without killing herself and she said that it wouldn’t be a problem.  Now you know that I had to see this to believe it.  Today we met in Raleigh to have our first shoot and all I can say is that she has balance like a cat.
