I had the privilege of being asked to film, edit and act as director of photography for the TRU Anti Smoking Campaign which was being hosted by my church “North East Baptist Church”.
This past Saturday was filled with fun, laughter and love as the families of Chris and Candice came together to celebrate their marriage. The location was Bahama Breeze in Raleigh, NC.Â

Joy, laughter and love are the spice of life. On this shoot with Chris & his family just out of nowhere the sibling (fun) rivalry kicked up into 1st gear. While I was trying to get them into position for the portrait a little loving harassment just exploded onto the scene.  Its nice to see two siblings that understanding the importance of playing. As adults sometimes we get too caught up into what is going on and we can become stoic and serious. These two started to cut up and below what you see is fun taking place at its most pure level. Chris, I also still harass my sisters.. it is our duty as a brother.

I had the privilege to capture the 25th wedding anniversary for Tracy and Jonia Weaver.  They had many family and friends present to take part in the special union that was ordained by God. Â

This past Saturday I had the chance to capture the Fashion Show called “A Fashion Affair”. This show was put on by Lynn from Studio Plus Discount hair Salon. This was a challenge from a technical standpoint but at the same time it was a fun event to capture. i learned a lot and have ideas of how I’d shoot it different if I ever did another show. If you want to see all of the pictures then check out the slideshow below.

The participants were very easy to work with when I asked them to stagger themselves so that all could be seen.
A saw funky socks walking around the room and this shot jumped into my head. Once I rounded them up they were eager to sit down and stick their feet out (as asked) and held the pose until we got it just right.

On May 16th I had the opportunity to capture the school dance for YTCA Christian Academy. All I can say is that these children had a lot of clean fun.  By the end of the night this old man was tired!Â

In this shot I just asked the children to stand around me in an oval. I had the blue strobe kicking in the background to add some accent lighting. After this setup one of the children told me that he thought that something had happened to me. He was coming over to help me get up off the floor.
I took my son BJ along with me to help haul/setup/test the gear and lighting…Â He’s a great kid and a really great helper and he’s starting to instinctively know what I need next.

This afternoon, in between rain showers, I had the opportunity to capture the formal prom pictures for Diondra and her date. The location was Duke Gardens and the shoot went quickly. When I pulled into the parking lot it was raining. I prayed and asked God to hold the rain long enough for the shoot and long enough so that my equipment didn’t get fried.
The rain held…
God still answers prayers and he’s done that on several occassions where a shoot was involved.
Today I told the children to make sure that they get their homework done because we have things to do this evening.  I noticed that the normal chatter from my little girl wasn’t taking place. Actually, it was too quiet.  I thought.. man this is nice. She is buckling down and getting her assigments out of the way.  When I got up to check on her this is what I found. Â
It can be a bad thing when your parent is a photographer.  If the Lord allows me to live a long life then I’m going to bring this back to her remembrance when she’s an adult with her own children. This is going in the family photo album.
This morning I had the chance to capture little Leslie. She was a bundle of joy and this little girl loves to giggle.  She like cookies and ice cream like most children. She also loves the camera.
