Chef Lamana – Culinary Healing

This afternoon I had the chance to capture some images of Chef Lamana.  When I arrived the sun outside was just perfect and so we quickly took advantage of the best light on the planet.  After a few shots outside we headed inside to capture a few photographs of  Lamana within her territory which is the kitchen.  Not too long afterwards her little princess came walking into the room  so we captured a few precious mother and daughter moments.

Ms. 21 Years Old

Some shoots are more fun than others but this particular shoot was very enjoyable.  Featured here is Jaenise and she just turned 21 years old.  She came to me and said Mr. Watkins I would like to do a “Grown N Sexy” shoot for my 21st birthday.  The wheels in my head started to turn as I thought about some of the looks that we could try.

So here we are at the end of our shoot and I present to you Ms. “Grown N Sexy”.

The Pollacks

Earlier this month and had the chance to meet the Pollacks.  All of these photographs were taken within the comfort of “their” home.  We cleared out the children’s playroom, setup the backdrop and lights and started down the path to capture some precious memories.  All the family is very friendly but the little guy “Jack Jack” won my heart.

Davis Christmas Photos 2008

The Davis family invited me to capture their pictures for the 2008 Christmas season. You can tell by the pictures below that the main focus was baby girl Camryn who you saw featured earlier on the site. After the pictures were captured (in Winston-Salem, NC) then we just relaxed and shot the breeze for a while.

Senior – Tiffany

I had the honor to take senior portraits of Tiffany.  When she asked if I would do her pictures I thought I had a long time to get them done but I was wrong.  I received a call from her grand mother letting me know that the due date for photos was within the next two weeks.    At that point  it was time to boost the priority so that we would have enough time to come up with a few concepts.

As I talked with Tiffany the main thing that became clear was that she didn’t want your standard run of the mill senior photos (outdoors, in the grass, sunlight coming the hair…etc).  Her request was that she wanted a glamor/modeling style set of images created.    We put our heads together and below are just a handful of the images that came from our efforts.

Tiffany is a real trooper. One of the images that she wanted involved a wall with an interesting design.  We headed to downtown Durham and believe it or not.. shot these next two images in 36 degree (fahrenheit) weather.

Although the image below is not a modeling/glamour we through it in just to say that we had one standard type of portrait.

Baby – Zachary

One of God’s gifts to us are our children.  I had the chance to capture baby Zachary.  As a photographer I usually have in mind what types of images I’d like to capture.  For this baby shoot I had “so many” ideas that I wanted to implement but baby Zach wasn’t having it.. lol  He let me know real quick that he was the one “wearing the pants” in this “photo shoot” and that no pre-planned shot would happen without his approval.

I really thank his parents for hanging in there.  It wasn’t that Zachary didn’t want to be photographed.  He wanted to be photographed with the love and comforting touch of his parents.  He made the rules, we had to play by them and in the end we captured some priceless images that will be treasured for generations to come.

Fun With The Flagglers at Duke Gardens

I had the chance to capture the Flaggler family at Duke Gardens.  We spent some time looking at various spots but this small pier on the lake really captured our attention.  So rather than bore you with a lot of words I’ll let you soak in the tranquility that we experienced.
